State Offers Michigan Child Protection Registry
The State of Michigan offers a free resource to help keep children from receiving adult-themed advertisements through email, text messages, and apps. The Michigan Child Protection Registry helps block ads related to alcohol, vaping or tobacco, online gambling, pornography, and marijuana. Schools and families can easily sign up on the ProtectMiChild website.
Schools may support this program by:
- Registering the school’s domain through the website.
- Sending a message to families to let them know about the registry and encourage them to sign up.
- Adding a button to the school’s website linking to the ProtectMiChild website so families can access it easily. Families can then use the registry to help block adult-themed content from reaching their children.
